Aquaculture Europe 2025
SETELĀ is pleased to announce its participation inĀ Aquaculture Europe 2025, the highly anticipated international trade fair dedicated to technological innovation and best practices in the aquaculture sector. The event will take place fromĀ September 22 to 25Ā inĀ Valencia, Spain.
Aquaculture Europe 2025 represents a strategic platform bringing together farmers, suppliers, institutions, and professionals from the global aquaculture industry, aiming to promote innovative and sustainable solutions for the farming and management of marine resources. This yearās theme,Ā āInvest in Your Planetā, highlights the importance of technology and sustainability for the responsible growth of the sector.
The SETEL team will showcaseĀ MAR ā Multipurpose Amphibious Rover, the innovative amphibious rover designed to support operators in the inspection, monitoring, and management of aquaculture farms efficiently and sustainably. MAR represents the combination of expertise, advanced technology, and environmental care, with versatile applications in both freshwater and saltwater environments.
It will also be possible to discover how SETELās integrated solutions support operators in increasing efficiency, reducing environmental impact, and ensuring the quality of the final product.
On Thursday, September 25th, Eng. Eduardo De Francesco will give a presentation entitled āAmphibious Technologies for Sustainable Aquaculture: The Role of MAR (Multipurpose Amphibious Rover) in Coastal Monitoring, Safety, and Resilience.ā

Talking innovation at AFRAQ2025!
OnĀ Thursday, June 26 at 3:00 PM, in theĀ Kabalega HallĀ atĀ AFRAQ2025,Ā Prof. Em. Eduardo De Francesco delivered a talk as part of the sessionĀ Digital Technologies and Aquaculture Engineering Raw Materials,Ā chaired by Meenakshisundaram Menaga.
His presentation, titled:
āMAR: the amphibious rover for the protection of Lake Victoria ā monitoring, restoration, and invasive species controlā,
focused on theĀ MAR ā Multipurpose Amphibious Rover, the vehicle developed byĀ SeTeLĀ to protect aquatic ecosystems, with targeted applications in environmental monitoring, habitat restoration, and invasive species control.
That was a must-attend session for anyone looking toward the future of aquaculture and technology for the protection of inland waters!

We are pleased to announce SeTeLās participation in theĀ World Aquaculture Safari 2025, the most important aquaculture event in Africa, organized by the prestigiousĀ World Aquaculture Society.
Ā FromĀ June 24 to 27, we will be inĀ Entebbe, Uganda, alongside leading international players in the sector, to share visions, innovations, and best practices.
On this occasion, we will present our research and development project:

An amphibious system designed to innovate aquaculture management through advanced detection, monitoring, and inspection capabilities.

Setel at CNR for the Conference on Biodiversity and Sustainability!
On March 25th, Setel participated in the eventĀ āBiodiversity and Sustainability: new market opportunitiesā, organized byĀ CNRĀ inĀ Rome. It was an unmissable opportunity to explore the challenges and opportunities for the future of biodiversity and sustainability!
During the conference, Setel had the privilege of presentingĀ Biovalvia 4.0, our innovative project dedicated toĀ sustainability in aquaculture practices. Biovalvia aims to revolutionize the monitoring, maintenance and inspection of waters forĀ shellfishĀ cultivation, using an advancedĀ amphibious roverĀ equipped with a mechanical arm, sensors, actuators and artificial intelligence (Multipurpose Amphibious Rover) to study the behavior of the blue crab.
With Biovalvia, we not only improve the efficiency of operations, but we also contribute to preserving marine biodiversity, trying to combat the blue crab and promoting innovative solutions for an increasingly green and responsible sector.

We will be present with our experts from the R&D department, showing the recent developments of our flagship MAR project and to present our core business with the Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) activities.
AFRAQ 2024 | āSuistainable Aquaculture Developmentā Conference
As part of the Conferences that are being held these days at Afraq2024, we participated in the Special Session, on the theme “Suistainable Aquaculture Development”.
Opening the session was Dr. Silvia Canali, Lawyer and Legal Consultant, with “The control system in organic aquaculture in Italy. Development of production, quality and increase of consumer confidence. Equivalence relations in trade in organic products between Tunisia and the EU”.
Following, Eng. Eduardo De Francesco, with his contribution entitled “A new amphibious vehicle for the automation of marine water quality measurements”.
Finally, Professor Fabio Leccese of the University of Roma Tre, with his speech “Measurement aspects for the automation of marine water quality measurements”.

AFRAQ 2024 | Hammamet
We are pleased to announce SeTeLās participation inĀ AFRAQ2024, the thirdĀ AquacultureĀ Africa Conference. This year the conference will be hosted by Tunisia, from 19 to 22 November 2024, in the majestic city of Hammamet.Ā
The World Aquaculture Society (WAS) spearheaded the inception of the annual Aquaculture Africa Conferences (AFRAQs), which have proven to be a huge success since their commencement. These gatherings serve as a platform for aquaculture enthusiasts from different backgrounds ā spanning commercial, academic, government and non-government sectors ā to not only celebrate the achievements of the sector but also to collaborate on addressing its challenges.Ā
In this context SeTeL participates with the aim of promoting advanced technological solutions (SeTeL ā MAR ā Multipurpose Amphibious Rover) in the field of fish farming, aquaculture and mussel cultivation. At our stand it is possible to learn more about the Rover and its technology, the most recent projects, exchange ideas and discuss with experts in the sector.Ā
At the opening of the conference we also had the opportunity to present our Rover to some representatives of the Tunisian government, whom we thank again for their interest.
